EasytoBook.com Review*

Awhile back I received an e-mail from the folks at http://www.easytobook.com/ asking me to consider writing a review of their website. Always happy to test out new (to me) travel products, I agreed.*

I compared the rates on EasytoBook with other hotel booking websites. The rates are similar to other hotel search engines I’ve used. It gives a range of prices from the lower end to the higher end. Although I tend to go for lower end hotels, the wide price range is helpful when you either feel like splurging or (as is often the case with me) you’re travelling with a friend who doesn’t do budget hotels. Luckily, this website accommodates both tastes plus all those in between.

As with most hotel booking sites, you can narrow the search down by price range, hotel star level and different amenities. But there are some rather convenient additional features on EasytoBook. For one thing, you can filter and sort the results based on the rankings given by previous guests. Very nifty for me, since I normally go to other websites to see the ratings given by guests anyway, so this saves me an extra step.

EasytoBook also has a “Compare” feature, which is perfect for looking at several hotels (and even rooms you’re considering within the same hotel) at once. Normally, I have several tabs open at the same time and go back and forth between them to compare rates and features, but with the EasytoBook site, you just click the “+” next to the rooms you’re considering, hit compare at the bottom and it brings up a second window that shows the booking conditions for each hotel, star levels, whether WiFi is available, the maximum number of people to a room, a small map with the location of the hotel marked (as well as distance from the city centre), any extras included in the deal and a breakdown of the amenities available.

There’s a good range of cities in Europe as well, covering most of the major cities on the continent. It’s not a comprehensive list, however, and there are not as many options for hotels in cities in South America, North America, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region outside of the capitals or major cities as I would like, but I’m guessing that will improve as more hotels sign on to EasytoBook. For a full listing of where they do have hotels around the world check out: http://www.easytobook.com/world.

Now, for my readers who haven’t done much travelling and don’t know where to start (or if you’re going to a city for the first time), check out EasytoBook’s blog: http://blog.easytobook.com. They have insiders travel guides to cities across Europe…and some nifty contests.

Overall, I found that EasytoBook lives up to its name as a fairly simple, straightforward hotel room booking search engine. As always when using any travel website, make sure to read the terms and conditions. If any of y’all use EasytoBook, let me know what you think in the comments section!
